Our Association hosted the 2011 Canadian Senior National Diving Championships this June at the Kinsmen Sport Center. This is a prestigious event which we only have occasion to host once every 4 to 5 years. Due to the generosity and the community spirit of Safeway Western Canada, we were able to host a BBQ for all the National Officials and the Board members of Diving Plongeon Canada.
We are sincerely grateful that once again Safeway championed the cause of amateur sport! The donation of food for the social event we held was extremely appreciated and very much needed in this difficult economic climate.
Thank-you very much again for your consideration for and endorsement of our National Diving event!

Alberta Diving would like to thank the Alberta Government for their recent grants that were provided to develop the sport of diving, it requires a great deal of support to foster program development, improve access for our youth and to remain competitive on all levels. The Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks & Wildlife Foundation provided a generous grant of $61000.00 for the development of the sport, as well as a $19 000.00 grant from the Community Spirit Program for equipment. Through these grants Alberta Diving has been able to provide equipment such as diving boards, trampolines and training mats, as well as fund coaching, provide scholarship funding, and medical support for high performance athletes. Without this type of support these programs would not be able to provide the youth of our province the opportunity to participate in alternative sport programs such as diving at any level. Many promising athletes take lucrative scholarship opportunities in the United States leaving sport in our country short of the potential that exists. This year Alberta Diving was pleased to provide $3000.00 in Scholarship Funding to Cody Yano, national silver medalist, allowing him to remain competitive and train at a high level, while still attending post-secondary school in Canada. Alberta Diving hopes to continue the support of our athletes and foster the sport, improving the health of our youth!
Thank You ASRPWF and Community Spirit!
